Paige Jung is a freelance digital illustrator based in Vancouver, Canada, living and creating on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh peoples. Her work specializes in vibrant colour-blocking, and is inspired by nostalgic still life scenes, storytelling, and her identity as a first-generation Chinese-Canadian. Illustration started as a creative space for Paige to express herself, and has grown to become a channel for conversations and a point of familiar connection with friends and strangers alike.
For Paige, Chinatown holds fond and deep memories from times spent with her parents and late grandparents as a child. The bustling neighbourhood is rich with storytelling, historic spaces and art, resilient community, and food that tugs at the heart. Having spent most of her life quite disconnected from Chinese culture, through her work, Paige is finding ways to reconnect with her roots, and to illuminate stories and voices from the community.
