About the papers:

  • traditional wrapping paper used on the cover binding were sourced from Bamboo Village, Vancouver Chinatown
  • White Pigeon tickets (白鸽票) were printed in China and featured the first eighty characters of the Thousand Character Classic a book of precisely one thousand characters and so well known that its characters were frequently used instead of numerals from one to one thousand.

For the lottery, twenty of the eighty numbers are drawn. A player was sold ten or more numbers and marked their selection on the ticket. The ‘manager’ of the game collects the tickets recording the player's name and the amount of money in case of a win. The game is the basis for the modern past time of Keno.
